| El camp d'aviació de Celrà, que va estar en funcionament entre 1937 i
1939, va ser la principal base aeria republicana a les terres
gironines. Desde les seves pistes despegaven els Polikarpov I-16
"Mosca" tant per defensar el litoral gironi dels atacs de la flota
franquista com per bombardejar objectius al front d'Aragó i, més tard,
intervenir a la batalla de l'Ebre. Va servir com a escola de vol nocturn i com a camp de probes pels avions que es muntaven als tallers de Celrà. Diposava d'un polvorí i 8 refugis antiaeris. | The
airfield of Celrà, wich was in operation between 1937 and 1938, was the
main republican air base in Girona. From his runways lift
