| El 1873, l'ajuntament de
Barcelona va aprovar el projecte d'en Andreu Marí, que posseïa el dret
de disposar de les aigües de quatre finques situades a les rieres de
Ripoll i de Caldes. Finançat pel banquer Manuel Girona, va construir una conducció de 18 Km i que transportava 1700 m3 diaris, fins que el 1881 va vendre l'empresa a la societat Compañía de Aguas de Barcelona. Encara podem veure els aqüeductes amb què salvava els desnivells de les rieres al seu pas pels barris de Torre Baró (rieres de Torre Vella, del Pou i de la mare de Déu), Ciutat Meridiana (Bosc Llarg i font Magués) i al Torrent del Cargol. Bona part de la canonada resta enterrada al nord del Turó de la Qüestió. La canonada segueix el perfil de la muntanya, enterrada sota terra, amb unes dimensions de 0,8 m d’amplada i 1,40 m d’alçada i les parets i el sostre, de volta de canó, són fets amb morter de ciment i sauló, excepte en algun tram on s’observa una volta de totxanes que sembla posterior. Les parets interiors estan lliscades amb ciment i tenen un gruix d'entre 10 i 15 cm. |
In 1873, the city of
Barcelona approved the project of Andreu Mari, who owned the right to
dispose of the waters from four properties located on the shores of
Ripoll and Caldas streams. Much of the pipeline remains buried in northern Turó de la Qüestió. The interior walls are muffled with cement and have a thickness of between 10 and 15 cm. |
